On 16th of November 2023, the Registrar of Political Parties Mr Emmanuel Pok was sworn in at the Government House witnessed by staff of the Registry including family and friends of Mr Pok. The occasion finally eventuated after numerous cancellation of this event in the past month. In the absence of the Governor General Sir Bob Dadae, Speaker of Parliament and Acting Governor General, Honourable Joe Pomat was there to officiate at the ceremony at Konedobu.
A luncheon was later hosted back at the Registy’s conference room and Mr Pok acknowledged everyone who contributed to his official appointment including staff and his immediate family. Mr Pok was officially appointed in August 2023 as the Registrar by the Board
Since the establishment of the office in 2002, prior to his appointment, previous Registrars included senior statesman Mr Paul Bengo, Lawyer and Judge Sir Kina Bona, Senior Academic and Political Scientist Late Dr Alphonse Gelu. Mr Pok encouraged the staff to work together as a team and to promote the mission vision of the Registry in his term as the Registrar.
